Title Design

  • The movie title we have picked is "Unfriended"
  • The title will be in a bold, spooky looking font and will appear on the screen for 3-4 seconds and it will fade out. This title will take up most of the width on the screen, to ensure that the audience will see it. The color we chose was black because it stands out the most.
  • The other titles will be in a different font from the film title, to make the film title stand out more. The other titles will be a normal everyday like font. They will also be black and will appear on screen for 2-3 seconds depending on the title.
  • Every title, not including the film title, will appear in the bottom right corner of the screen. It will only take up a small portion of the screen, so that it won't distract the audience from the scene, but it will also be big enough to be read. The titles will fade out after their 2-3 seconds on screen.
  • The name of the studio is "Berry Studios" and the production company is going to be "Four Girls Pictures"
  • The next title to appear on screen will be the actors names. The actors names are going to be "Dara Sedaka and Violet Roberts"
  • Next the film title will appear, followed by the music, edited by "Siena Pancera", produced by "Parker Merrick", story by "Dara Sedaka and Violet Roberts", and written by "Dara Sedaka".

  • The last title that will appear on screen will be the directed by title. It will appear in the last 2 seconds of the film. The director is going to be "Siena Merrick"

Change of plans...

My group was supposed to have the majority of filming completed by this date. However, we keep having to reschedule. This is due to a multitude of reasons. Initially, we just all had plans that conflicted with the times. I had a family dinner on one of the days, and the rest of my group members also had things to do. More recently, I suggested we film during the week because everyone seems to be busy on the weekends. However, this ended up not working out either. Dara and I both play on our school's soccer team, and practices are after school during the week. Our team has gotten very far this season. This means that the season's games have extended into the spring, which is longer than I anticipated. We continued having practice because of this. This meant that filming after school during the week was impossible, so we had to push back filming even further. Storyboard

  Slide 1: The first five seconds will show clouds going down with "...Presents" and "...Production Company."  Slide 2: The next scene is a tracking shot of a very vibrant neighborhood with the actors' names.  Slide 3: The camera gets closer to a house and shows the film's name. Slide 4: The camera goes into the house slowly. Slide 5: The camera continues throughout the house that looks very put together. Slide 6: The kitchen is a little messy-looking and says "The Music by..." Slide 7: Two girls are shown talking muted as the "Directed by.." is displayed. Research: How to make a short film

 We watched a video about making short films. They say that when writing, we need to keep in mind what we can pull off. We shouldn't write in things that we cannot create for our film. In other words, anything too expensive we should not use in the film. They also say that the theme should guide the story. Whatever we want out of the story should be kept in mind while writing. They also say that with stories where we want the audience to be surprised, go against our first idea. This way the obvious idea will not be given and they will be legitimately surprised by things. They emphasize that casting the right people is very important. They need to be able to look the part. They need to fit the character too. This will not be a problem for my group. We will have a member of our group play the main characters and we are confident our members can do so well. They also emphasize that sound is very important to capture dialogue and noises well.
