Filming Blog

Today was our first day of filming. It went very well! We were efficient and got almost all of it done. It was actually very fun too. First we went to the senior patio to film our third, fourth, and fifth scene. We were outside, so it was very hot, but that's ok. We filmed Nicole taking a Post- It Note out of her lunchbox from behind, and then another shot from in front, without letting the audience see what the note says. Then we show her smile and stand up. It then cuts to me on a bench as I play a sad looking boy. In our story board, this character is a boy. However, no one in our group is a boy, and all the other groups were busy. We had to improvise. Mila lent me her jacket so I could tie my hair up and flip it over my forehead to give the illusion of short hair. Then I flipped the hood up to cover the pony tail, and I looked as boyish as I could. We filmed Nicole giving the note to me and me smiling like it brightened my day. Then we had to move to the bus loop area for our

Story Board Blog

In the first box we drew a woman pulling a sticky note from the camera and you can see her write a note and stick it in a lunch box     In the second box the camera angle is over the shoulder mixed with "gods view" and we see her open the lunch box with the note, the camera doesn't show what the note says but it skips to her reaction of the note which is a smile.     In the third box, a sad kid is walking and she hands the same note to him which makes him smile as well.     Next you can see him walking to a board and stick the same note onto it however, the message that is written on it is still unseen by the camera.     Last, the boy walks away from the board and the note is finally revealed with the words "spread joy" hence the same note going around making people smile.

PROPS: Since our group decided on a Post-it Note commercial, we wont need many props but the things we will need are; sticky notes, a pen, and maybe a book.     COSTUMES: Our commercial doesn't have anything to do with athletic wear or fancy clothes. we will just need our regular everyday outfits  The commercial won't be focused on an individual at all times so we might have one or two actresses.     SCHEDULE: on 09/23/21: our group will establish props, costumes, filming location, research, and back-up plan. on 09/27/21: our group will create our story board and discuss it.  on 09/29/21: our group will create the scenes for our 30 second commercial on 09/31/21: our group will edit and do final touches to the commercial.     LOCATION LIST:      One of our locations will be the court yard. In this location we will have our actress pull out a Post-it Note out of her lunch box like it is from her mom. We will also have someone hand a note to someone give the same note to "s

My group and I decided to make our commercial about Post-it Notes. Based on multiple commercials we've seen, one specific clip that was shared between many of the commercials was a wall full of sticky notes. Something else we usually saw was a clip of people writing on the sticky notes and clips of them removing it from the pad.  The people in the commercials are usually wearing casual attire, no specific types of clothes are worn by the actors.  The props shared throughout all of the different commercials include a Post-it notepad, and something used to write on the sticky notes, which most of the time are pens.  The general appearance of the people in the commercials is professional and organized.  The commercials are usually regularly paced, nothing is rushed and everything seems to be in control and organized. This also promotes that customers will be more organized with the help of using Post-its. The commercials usually include the company name, "Post-it", with the

My group mates are Dara, Mila, and Nicole. I am excited to begin working on this project with them. They are all nice and good students, and I know that we will work well all together. We each have common interests, but we also have individual specialties. Mila is a very good editor and knows the ins and outs of the software and tools needed to make clips better. She will certainly be good when it comes time to cut and adjust clips, sounds, and music. She takes that part of the project which will help piece together our commercial. Nicole is a talented actor and dancer and knows how to make things more appealing to an audience. She will be great when it comes to advertising a product. She also happens to be quite into film and is excited for this upcoming piece. Her knowledge and understanding of media and its elements will prove useful. Dara is exceedingly gifted at art, drawing, painting, and other creative things. Her skills in artistry will be considerate for this commercial. The

Hello, my name is Violet Roberts. I am in 10th grade and am 15 years old. I live with my mom, my dad, my brother, my two dogs, and my eight cats. I like to play soccer, piano, and I like to do theatre. I would consider myself a decently social person who enjoys the company of others. I love animals, and I also enjoy teaching and think that maybe I will do something in that field in life. I chose to be in this class because I am interested in film and its components. I like to act, so seeing how actors, editors, directors, etc. do their job is something that excites me. I like seeing the art in things. Film and media have a lot of hidden elements. Trying to see if I can identify and visualize those things is a challenge I enjoy. I look forward to learning all about film and its process. I always watch movies and wonder how they accomplish certain things. I am enthusiastic about the thought of learning of all those things. To see how the behind the scenes works is crazy. To be a part of
