Filming challenge

Today I refilmed a particular part of our music video. I noticed that one of the scenes seemed a bit weird. It is supposed to show our main character flop onto his bed and then it transitions to the next scene. However it is supposed to be timed with the music. There are four beats that he falls back on. In the original shot, I tried to maneuver the camera on beat. However this did not exactly work. The camera work was sloppy. It seemed very jolty and jerky. I wanted to somehow hit the beats of the music. But that didn’t seem to be working out. I filmed it a few times today, trying new ways each time. I would zoom in, zoom out, go side to side. Nothing seemed to be working. I finally resolved to sacrifice hitting the beats. Instead, I tilted the camera slowly and moved it above him. I didn’t love not hitting the beats of the music. However, it was a compromise I was willing to make. In the end, I ended up using the slow glide over our actor. It seemed smoother and more profesional. I sent it to the rest of my group and they said they liked it.
