Change of plans...

Image
My group was supposed to have the majority of filming completed by this date. However, we keep having to reschedule. This is due to a multitude of reasons. Initially, we just all had plans that conflicted with the times. I had a family dinner on one of the days, and the rest of my group members also had things to do. More recently, I suggested we film during the week because everyone seems to be busy on the weekends. However, this ended up not working out either. Dara and I both play on our school's soccer team, and practices are after school during the week. Our team has gotten very far this season. This means that the season's games have extended into the spring, which is longer than I anticipated. We continued having practice because of this. This meant that filming after school during the week was impossible, so we had to push back filming even further. Unfortunately, or fortunately from a filming perspective, the girls soccer team lost in the regional semifinal game. While...

Genre Research: Science Fiction

Image
There are many things that make a genre clear to what it is. For example, the genre Science Fiction has usually always has these factors to it. Camera Angles: Medium shot: This shot is often used to show at least two or more people/creatures. It shows their faces in good detail and allows  viewers  to see the emotions the characters are feeling.  Close up: This angle allows the audience to connect  with the character. It is more intense than a medium shot, often capturing only one whole character in frame. Extreme close up (aka reaction shot): This shot is perfect for very intense emotions. It shows us tiny details that  viewers  wouldn't have previously seen, and draws  attention  to what the director pleases. Costumes: Costumes in this genre often depend on the role the character is playing. If they are a creature like an alien, or animal we have never seen before, they usually have bright colors or strange attributes. Thes...

Planning time!

Image
The participants include Mila Rakic, Addison Walker, Violet Roberts, and Dara Sedaka. The location will be Addison Walker's house. Our back up plan in case Addison's house doesn't work out will be to film at Violet's house. We will have Addison's parents home during the filming. This will be to ensure health and safety. They will watch over us to ensure nothing goes wrong and help us if something goes wrong. This is especially important since we have dangerous props, like a knife. For the props we will need as follows: two barbie dolls, a rope, a cup of lemonade, and a chocolate cake. We will also need a plate for the cake, a knife to slice the cake, a small vile of green liquid, and a T.V. remote. Finally, we will need a bowl of popcorn, a glass of water, and a knife. The costumes will be regular clothes that a teenage girl would wear. This works so the audience doesn't get suspicious. It will also slightly reassemble a barbie, so things like the color pink an...
