Editing Blog
Today was editing day! Our group worked as a team to edit our master piece. I had all of the videos of our commercial on my phone. We worked as a group to decide which clips we would be keeping for our final product. Once we had decided, I sent them to our group chat for my group members to save them. From there, we began to edit. Mila is our designated editor due to her experience. I helped her to put all the clips together to make our commercial perfect. Upon finishing putting the clips together, Mila showed me the video. She and I realized that it was over 20 seconds, and that it needed to be cut down. As a group we worked and I helped her identify parts that were not necessary and could be shaven off. Once we had finished shortening our commercial to its proper length, we thought we were done. Little did we know there was still work to be done! I pointed out that some transitions were a bit unclean. As a group we picked out which ones we wanted to pretty up. I helped Mila with the final transition. This is probably the most difficult one. It is the one where it shows me putting the post-it on the wall, then zooms in just slightly on my head, and then when I walk away, there is a heart of post-its around the main one. This was especially difficult due to the fact that I wore two different jackets, as the clips were filmed on two different days and Mila was not there to bring her jacket. All in all it was a good, productive day of editing and I'm glad we got so much done!
